Last night i met this random individual who happened to be an entrepreneur who owned about 15 McDonald in London which got me thinking, what stops them running localised online campaigns to attract clients to their stores? What stops an chain shop using Local business ads synergy with paid search through Google and Google maps to drive more clients? Mobile ads?

If they are allowed to use offline geo targetted advertisement means, why should online be prevented in any way? are we going to see www.oxfordstreetmcdonalds.com popping up soon? surely mcdonalds should be able to see some good in giving franchise's some e-space on their site and start thinking about geo targeting campaigns using the funds from franchises!
